Busbar trunking has a lower impedance when compared to cable and when being used in similar applications ensures minimization of power losses which directly translates to cost and energy saving when being utilized.

The voltage drop of 2000Amp bustrunking for 1250kVA DG set is 0,075 Volts/Meter. The voltage drop of 4 runs of 1c x 630Sqmm cable for 1250kVA DG set is 0,296 Volts/Meter.
Compact size: 151(w) x 275(h). Light in weight compared to cable. Cables and its structure 700mm wide i.e., Cable tray etc. is very heavy and occupies more space.
Allows the decentralized distribution: T- Sections, Tap offs. Not possibility of decentralized distribution. Have to run separate cables.
Can achieve 90 degree bends with Busbar up to 6300 Amps (1000Volts) Not possible with cable.
Totally enclosed, cannot be tampered with. Fit and forget system (Maintenance free). Open, possibility of tampering, theft etc..
Direct termination trough Busbar flange. No additional cost required. Additional cable glands & Lugs are required for cable terminations.
Termination is simply and easy (No special equipment required). The method of cable termination is very cumbersome (Special equipment required).
No additional supports required, gets supplied with the Busbar. Additional supports are required to hold the cables inside the panel/Cable tray.
Can be installed by 2/3 persons. Heavy labour is required to lay/pull the cables.
No extra holes/Cut-outs required are all pre-done. Holes to be drilled in the gland plate for fixing cable glands.
Fire rating 240 Minutes (Iso 834). No toxic fumes released in case of fire. Cannot with stand a fire. Toxic fumes released once burning (Depending on cable fire rating).
Uniblock Joint (Tamper proof shear off nut). Require a cable joint kit.
